The Syncretist is a philosophical collaboration between seekers.

We meet to discuss the most important philosophical topics, taking a holistic approach to knowledge. We welcome those of all beliefs and viewpoints, because all human consciousness is part of a beautiful and endless story. We welcome you to join one of our discussions

“As we grow in our consciousness, there will be more compassion and more love, and then the barriers between people, between religions, between nations will begin to fall. Yes, we have to beat down the separateness.”

Ram Dass

What is a Syncretist? Syncretism is the fusion of different belief structures within a singular whole. We are not spiritual shoppers, we do not pick and choose the stances we take to suit our own ends. Instead we acknowledge the common sense of one-ness experienced in a range of religious and spiritual practices. We pay respect to the wisdom of spiritual and religious leaders who have furthered our understanding of what it means to be human.

“You are like a candle. Imagine you are sending light out all around you. All your words, thoughts and actions are going in many directions. If you say something kind, your kind words go in many directions, and you yourself go with them. We are ...transforming and continuing in a different form at every moment.” Thích Nhất Hạnh

Our topics of discussion include consciousness, the divine, altered states of experience, spirituality and religion. Meetings are scheduled at least three weeks in advance, meaning participants are given an opportunity to consider the planned topic of discussion, allowing us all to prepare and read as much, or as little, as they like before the meeting. We do not have leaders or facilitators; all are equal here.

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” C.G. Jung
